In the next couple of weeks I am going to share with you what I have learned from these incredible speakers!
“You got to be hungry!” – Les Brown
Whatever you plan to do with your life, you need to plan, because if you don’t plan you might end up at a wrong destination. Most people do what they have always done and wonder why nothing changes.
Where are you right now? Where do you want to be? What do you want to do today, in a month time, in five years? Who do you want to be?
Before getting into the woods you pack a map, don’t you? Or if you travel somewhere you have never been before you take a map or switch on you satnav, right? But when it comes to choosing ones career or ones entire life most people don’t plan at all.
Most people tend to do what their parents or teachers have told them to study. And out of the fear of disappointing anyone most people just stay in a job they don’t like for years and years.
Did you know that most heard attacks happen on Monday mornings between 8 -9 am? Why? Probably because they hate their jobs, their nagging boss, or some of their colleagues, or maybe it is the bad pay which is never enough to live a comfortable life.
Another reason might be the fear of change; well Les Brown said “If you do what is easy, your live will be hard! But if you do what is hard, your live will be easy!
So how can you change any of this? You must be willing to make radical changes.
Take a couple of minutes and write down all the dreams and goals you have, no matter how big or small they are. Do not skip any because you think they are not possible. Everything is possible!
You’ve got to start believing in yourself. Sometimes you have to believe in people who believe in you, until your own belief kicks in.
But what if no one around you believes in your goals and dreams? Who are those people, possibly your friends? Ask yourself what type of person am I becoming as an outcome of this relationship? Unconsciously you will pick up their attitude to life and their habits. If you are around negative people all the time, you will become negative too.
Ask yourself what is this relationship doing for you? And then separate yourself from those relationships that are not helpful, but drain your energy or talk you out of your dreams and goals.
Surround yourself with like-minded people who also thrive to upgrade their lives.
Write your goals on a card and read them every day. Think about what you have to do in order to get to your goals. You might want to invest in yourself and hire a coach, even the best do!
Develop your mindset by listening and reading motivational material every day.
Challenge yourself to learn or do something you fear, because the more you try it the easier it gets.
“Most people fail in life not because they aim to high and miss, but because they aim to low and hit!” – Les Brown
