Q: What are Global Goals?

A: Global Goals or Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are concerned with creating a better future for the society and environment around the world

Q: Who developed the Sustainable Development Goals?

A: The United Nations (UN); the largest assembly of world leaders in history accepted the UN Millennium Declaration

Q: When were the Sustainable Development Goals initially agreed upon?

A: Initially, in September 2000 at the Millennium Summit, the UN proposed the so called 8 ‘Millennium Development Goals’, which obligated the assembly of world leaders and their nations to form a new global partnership to reduce extreme poverty and setting out a series of time-bound targets, with a deadline of 2015

Q: Were the Global Goals or SDGs always called that way?

A: In 2015, the United Nations have reconsidered the eight Millennium Development Goals and concluded by developing the 17 SDGs, which address the world most current important issues

Q: What can individuals do to participate?

A: Individuals can learn more about the #GlobalGoals by seeking information and taking part in initiatives within their communities and around the world

Q: What can businesses do to participate?

A: Business owners, from a micro business to a large enterprise can seek information, choose one or several goals which they like to focus on and initiate change within their company as well as in their community, and form sustainable partnerships with complimentary businesses to promote the goals
